Solar ACDC’s solar heat pump hot water systems combine air-source heat pump technology with solar integration to deliver energy-efficient hot water year-round. These units extract heat from ambient air and use solar power when available, reducing electricity use without sacrificing performance.
Each unit includes a 240V AC back up element for emergency use. The tank size is 270 litres and meets all Australian Standards. With a max temp of 70°C and built-in protection systems, they’re a smart, low-maintenance way to lower household energy bills.
They can be set up without any AC power so they simply heat up the water during the daytime and turn off at night either costing nothing to run or not draining an off grid battery system.
Heating with Built-In Protection
The system operates on DC power from solar panels or grid/battery AC if needed. A 2.4 kW element (top-mounted) provides a back up emergency option so there is no situation where hot water can not be produced.
Each unit includes:
• Thermostat and over-temp cut-out
• PTR valve (Pressure Temperature Relief)
These components are factory-installed and must stay in place for safety and compliance.
Smart Temperature Control
Thermostat is adjustable with:
• 60°C minimum (meets anti-legionella regulations)
• 80°C max tank temperature
• 50°C max delivery to bathrooms via tempering valves
The system maintains reliable output even in cold or cloudy conditions by continuing to extract ambient heat.
